The Boerne Youth Football and Cheer Association (aka Boerne Bulls) wrapped up their final season in 2022 with two teams winning the Hill Country Youth Football League Championships. The JV Black team and the 5th Grade Black team both had undefeated seasons and decidedly won their championship games. Six of the seven youth football teams associated with the Boerne Bulls made it to the playoffs this season, which was a record for our Boerne program.
2023 is time for a new chapter for youth football in Boerne with the division of the Boerne Bulls into two new organizations aligned with our BISD high schools: the Boerne Greyhounds and the Champion Chargers. The primary goal with this change is to provide the best tackle football and cheerleading experience for participants with smaller organizations. The alignment with high school attendance boundaries will create opportunities for these children to play or cheer together through elementary school and continue together in middle and high school as well as fostering school pride.
Football and Cheer registration for the Greyhounds and Chargers will open this spring. Be sure to check the websites (Champion Chargers Youth Football and Cheer (chargersyfc.com) and Greyhound Youth Football and Cheer (greyhoundyfc.com)) and social media posts for updates on registration and upcoming events.
The Boerne Bulls are appreciative of the years of parental and community support provided over the years and hope that the support is continued for the newly formed Greyhound and Charger organizations. Go Chargers and Go Greyhounds! Let’s keep bringing home the championships in 2023!
